BACKYARD CINEMA HAS TRANSFORMED INTO 'MIAMI BEACH'

If you like piña coladas but not getting caught in the rain, then Backyard Cinema has the perfect summer event. The roof is on, the sand is out - kick off your city shoes and grab a pair of flip flops as you lie back and enjoy the only guaranteed summer experience in London.

Miami Beach is the latest instalment from Backyard Cinema, the UK's only theme-changing cinema responsible for The Last Chapel, The Winter Night Garden and The Lost World. Not just your average cinema, Backyard Cinema will bring the Miami heat to Borough with a tropical beach and exotic cocktails to accompany screenings of classic films and blockbusters. Ticket holders will exchange city footwear for flip-flops at the door and tropical outfits are encouraged.

Miami Beach has begun Backyard Cinema's permanent home at Mercato Metropolitano in Borough.

Rewind back to a retro version of Miami and enter the immersive world of Backyard Cinema – the only guaranteed summer experience this season.

Backyard will show a selection of films celebrating sun, sand and all things tropical. Whether it’s a night out with mates, that special date or an evening with the kids, come and soak up the ‘sun’ at the Flamingo Beach Bar before settling into the famous giant beanbags to feel the sand between your toes.

Dominic Davies, the company founder says, "We've filled the cinema with 32 tons of sand and are ready to show some of the best summer films the cinematic world has to offer. Make sure you paint your toenails, ticket holders will have the chance to swap civilian shoes for their very own Backyard Cinema flip flops making this a cinema experience you truly remember. All this combined with no chance of rain!? This is going to be the best summer yet!."

Celebrate the ultimate summer line up in style. The Miami beach setting promises to be a place for all to enjoy. Whether you’re a film buff, date night couple or a kid there’s something for everyone. With new and old classics such as Back to the Future, Dirty Dancing and Scarface to La La Land, Lego Batman and Moana. 

Based in South London's Mercato Metropolitano in Borough, Backyard Cinema's sand-filled, Miami experience hosts giant beanbag seating and an in house bar serving a selection of themed cocktails alongside craft beers, cider, prosecco & Mocktails so the kids don't have to miss out.

Backyard Cinema is the first permanent themed cinema in London with an exciting selection of seasons planned throughout the year, treating customers to a completely different experience every time they go. Since moving into the new permanent home they have produced a jungle adventure, Lost World, The Last Chapel and an enchanted Christmas forest, The Winter Night Garden. Miami Beach arrives on 30th May.
