Dan Pearson Unveils Colourstream:

a new floral installation for Coal Drops Yard

19th  April – 30th  June 2019

Sketch design courtesy of Dan Pearson Studio

This spring, a new public horticultural installation from award-winning Dan Pearson Studio will come to life at Coal Drops Yard in London’s King’s Cross. In the form of vibrantly coloured clusters of eye-popping red, pink and purple geraniums and petunias, Colourstream, will fill the shopping and restaurant district’s central yard from 19th  April. Surrounded by newly installed outdoor seating, visitors will be invited to recline and soak up the invigorating splash of colour.

To celebrate and complement the floral theme, ‘The Floral Orchestra’ will be in the blooms every spring Saturday afternoon, from Easter to the summer Solstice. Flowery pop hits will be performed for free with orchestral arrangements by Xavior.

The temporary ‘pop-up’ collection of planters filled with bright flowers will act as visual guides to visitors towards Coal Drops Yard from Granary Square and will create a vibrant heart to embrace and celebrate the new public space. A permanent scheme designed by Dan Pearson Studio is currently being prepared for installation later in the year with bespoke planters designed in collaboration with designer Ian McChesney.

“We are delighted to be continuing our longstanding relationship with Argent in producing this eye-catching temporary installation for Coal Drops Yard. We look forward to the realisation of the permanent second phase planting scheme later this summer.” - Dan Pearson
