The British Academy Summer Showcase 2019 takes place 21-22 June

This summer the British Academy will once again throw open the doors of its Regency building and gardens, for its annual two-day Summer Showcase – a free festival of ideas for curious minds.

Featuring 15 interactive exhibits alongside pop-up talks, workshops and performances, the Summer Showcase brings the best new humanities and social sciences research to life.

Drop in to meet the brightest minds in archaeology, art history, politics and more, and explore eclectic exhibits designed to educate and inspire – from why our ancestors started to invent stone tools, to how 3D printing is changing lives.

The British Academy Summer Showcase is free to attend and opens 10.00-16.00 on Friday 21 and 11.00-17.00 on Saturday 22 June.

There will also be a Summer Showcase late-night view on Friday 21 June (18.30-21.00), offering evening visitors the chance to enjoy exclusive talks and performances over a drink at the bar.

The full programme for the Summer Showcase Late includes performances by Afro-fusion collective Nelson & Friends, readings and talks by poet and activist Jaspreet Kaur, leading poet Nikita Gill and celebrated author Nikesh Shukla, cocktails, DJ sets and much more attractions in an atmospheric setting.
