London, prepare to be Dazzled!
Lumiere London is a free light festival in 30 locations across some of the capital's most iconic areas
The festival will run across four evenings from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, 14th to 17th of January 2016.
Artichoke produce Lumiere. With a reputation for bold, groundbreaking outdoor arts events, it was founded in 2005 with the mission to invade public spaces with extraordinary and ambitious art.
Always working outside traditional arts venues, the company’s projects so far include bringing central London to a standstill with The Sultan’s Elephant; broadcasting love poetry from illuminated tents along the coastline of the UK with Deborah Warner’s Peace Camp; and most recently building and burning a 72ft high Temple with Burning Man artist David Best and the local community of Derry~Londonderry.
Artichoke is dedicated to bringing major arts events to the widest possible audience. As a registered charity, and with almost all events free to the public, the company relies on grants, donations and sponsors to fund what they do.
