Mill Green Museum is a restored 18th century working flour mill powered by water to produce flour and demonstrate historic milling practices (subject to demand for flour and weather conditions).
On milling days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sunday afternoons), see the magnificent watermill in action and find out from the miller about this ancient craft. Feel its power as the stones turn to make pure fresh flour the traditional way. See the water wheel turning and get close to the majestic wooden machinery.
The cluster of historic buildings and the surrounding grounds are a beautiful oasis in our busy world. Explore higgledy piggledy rooms packed with colourful displays of local art and exhibitions about the fascinating history. The Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service is based here and holds the social history collection for the district.
And, while you visit why not buy yourself a bag of freshly ground delicious wholemeal organic flour!
