Looking for a little peace in the middle of London, then visit the London Library on St. James Square.

It was founded by Thomas Carlyle in 1841 who was on a quest for ‘Silent Study’ as he found the British library too noisy, full of snorers and wheezers!

Past members have been the likes of Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill amongst others. Day Membership is £15.
