Scooterworks Cafe actually used to be a scooter workshop. Then they started serving coffee to waiting customers and – rather by accident – they were suddenly a cafe.
Although the garage is now in Bermondsey, the cafe still feels a little makeshift and cobbled together, which just adds to its late Fifties charm.
With its original Fifties Italian coffee machine and – you’ve guessed it – plenty of scooters and scooter-related memorabilia around this feels equally unpretentious and cool.
