/Nashville Meets London
brings country music
to Royal Albert Home
Nashville Meets London will present a night of country music as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s ongoing series of free streamed shows.
The Royal Albert Home concert on Saturday 18 July will feature performances by Nashville’s most versatile band, The Cadillac Three, vocalist Michael Ray, Canadian singer-songwriter Tenille Townes, and Yorkshire-native, Twinnie, with the event compered by Country Hits Radio, Mainly Music and No Chords But the Truth presenter Matt Spracklen.
The show, streaming for free at www.royalalberthall.com/RAHome, aims to raise funds for the Royal Albert Hall, which is closed for the first time since the Blitz. Since closing its doors on 17 March, its Royal Albert Home shows – featuring the likes of Rufus Wainwright, KT Tunstall, Richard Thompson and Ayanna Witter-Johnson performing direct from their living rooms – have been streamed more than a million times. This will be the first country music show in the strand.
Nashville Meets London (NML) is also currently producing Nashville Meets London Sessions, an online series featuring virtual concerts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
The Hall, which marks its 150th anniversary next year, has played host to innumerable legendary acts, from Billie Holiday, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix to Adele, Jay-Z and Nine Inch Nails. Recent country shows on its famous stage have included headline sets from Darius Rucker, Kacey Musgraves and Charles Esten.
