Brixton Station Road Market is run by the Brixton Market Traders’ Federation Community Interest Company. That means it’s run by traders themselves. It isn’t owned by a private corporation or run by the local authority, which makes it one-of-a-kind.
It’s great for a lunchtime snack on a Sunday. And of course it’s full of useful groceries, including fresh fruit and veg straight from the soil, and cheeses, flowers, meat, poultry, artisan bread, cakes, and jams.
The community and local people are at the heart of the market. And now that the Federations is a registered community interest company, any profit made goes back into Brixton, in one way or another.
